Similar
Species

Eastern gray treefrog and Cope’s gray treefrog (Hyla chrysoscelis) were, until 1968, considered the same species. In Minnesota, the range of both species overlap except in the northeast, where Cope’s gray treefrog cannot be found. The only reliable ways to distinguish between the two species is by listening to their calls or examing their chromosomes under a microscope.

Adult Food

Insects, insect larvae, mites, spiders, plant lice, harvestmen, snails, and smaller frogs.
