Comments

Visual Identification Impossible
There are at least 34 species of treefrog in the genus Hyla worldwide. Only two are found in Minnesota, eastern gray treefrog and Cope’s gray treefrog. These two are almost indistinguishable morphologically and until 1968 they were considered the same species. The only reliable ways to distinguish between them is by listening to their calls or examining their chromosomes under a microscope. The call of Cope’s gray treefrog is a fast trill lasting 1 to 3 seconds and not varying in pitch. The call of eastern gray treefrog is a slower trill with about half as many notes.

Looked like a rock at first glance. I'm declaring it a grey tree frog based on a response I got.
