Wander Without Wifi

LA SALLE LAKE STATE RECREATION AREA - Minnesota
Sep 9, 2021

About

If you are looking for that "up north" feeling of just you and your family at the lake then check out La Salle Lake State Recreation Area. There is no development along these shores and the fishing is excellent in these very clean and clear waters. Enjoy! And remember to #WanderWithoutWifi with Diana and Scott.

About

Published on Jul 3, 2012

In the late afternoon/early evening hours on July 2, 2012, a massive thunderstorm hit northwestern Minnesota with hurricane force winds, rain, thunder and lightening. Wind speeds of up to 80 mph were recorded. This video was taken during the early morning hours of July 3. La Salle Lake State Recreation Area and Scientific & Natural Area, which is near the Headwaters of the Mississippi River, sustained tremendous damage to hundreds of trees throughout the 1,000-acre property. Miraculously, no campers were injured and no buildings were severely damaged in the storm.
