About
Jun 11, 2020 Rush Lake Island SNA was the first Scientific and Natural Area designated, in order to protect a heron rookery. Since it is a closed sanctuary from April to July, a great way to experience this place is by making a loop around the island by cross country ski or snowshoe! Though you may not visit this SNA in person, it is rewarding to know that we, as Minnesotans, have together protected this important habitat for the rare and wild in Minnesota. mndnr.gov/snas/sna00952 |
