Ring-necked duck (Aythya collaris) seen in Hillsboro, Oregon. As it preens the brown ring on the neck from which it gets its' name can be seen. Taken with a Sony DSC-HX200V.

Ring-necked Ducks in Hastings Park Sanctuary, Vancouver, BC. The ring on the necks of this species of duck is not well seen except in certain lighting conditions in which it appears as an iridescent red colour.
