This park is just south of Redwing on U.S. Highway 61.

Xcel Energy’s nearby Prairie Island nuclear power plant keeps the water from icing over during the winter between Bay Point Park and Colvill Park.

Eagle Spot Weekend is held here every year from mid-February to late March.

William J. Colvill was an early Minnesota pioneer that found himself becoming a Civil War military leader and hero. His defining moment came at the battle of Gettysburg in July 0f 1863, 150 years ago. Statues, parks and monuments were dedicated in his honor after the war.
